Narendra Modi: First Prime Minister born in independent India

Narendra Modi ji is such a personality, which is famous everywhere in the country or abroad. Modi ji is working as the 15th Prime Minister of our country. In 2014 and 2019 general elections, Modi ji along with Bharatiya Janata Party won a historic victory. As if Modi wave has come all over the country, most of the Indians have full faith in Modi ji that they will give them a bright future. He became the first Prime Minister of India to achieve such a victory after independence. For the second time in a row, Modi has come to power with an absolute majority. Before and after becoming Prime Minister, he did many important works for the development of India. Although Modi ji has also been found surrounded in many controversies, his policies have always been praised.

Narendra Modi’s early life:

Narendra Damodardas Modi was born in a Baniya family in a town called Vadnagar in Mehsana district of Gujarat. He was born on 17 September 1950 to Damodardas Moolchand Modi and Heraben Modi. Narendra Damodar Das Modi is the first Prime Minister born in independent India. His father was a street trader who struggled a lot to nurture his family. Modi’s mother is a homemaker woman. Modi ji along with his brothers sold tea at the railway station and then at the bus terminal to support his family. Modi ji had faced many difficulties and obstacles in his childhood days, but with the strength of his character and courage, he turned all challenges into opportunities. In this way, his early life was very struggling.

Family introduction of Narendra Modi:

Narendra Modi ji is the third child of his parents. Modi’s elder brother Soma Modi is currently 75 years old, he has been an officer of the Health Department. His second elder brother Amrit Modi is a machine operator, whose age is 72 years. After this, Modi has 2 younger brothers, one Prahlada Modi, who is 62 years old, runs a shop in Ahmedabad, and another Pankaj Modi, who works as a clerk in the information department in Gandhinagar.

Narendra Modi Education and Starting Career:

Narendra Modi’s early education was completed from the local school in Vadnagar, he completed his higher secondary education there till 1967. He left his home after his family’s financial condition was not good, and then he travelled all over India and discovered diverse cultures. For this, Modi visited places like Rishikesh and Himalayas located in North India. He returned after 2 years of touring parts of the North East.

In this way, Modi did not do his further studies for a few years after completing his schooling. Once a teacher of Modi ji had said that Modi ji was normal in studies, but he used to spend most of his time in the library. His debate art was excellent. Then in 1978, Modi enrolled in Delhi University of India for his higher education and then in Gujarat University in Ahmedabad. There he did his bachelor’s and master’s in political science respectively. At a later stage, during the 1990s, when Modi served as the BJP’s official spokesman in New Delhi, he completed a three-month-long course in the US on public relations and image management.

Narendra Modi’s Political Career:

Narendra Modi always had the zeal to serve and help the people. As a young boy, Narendra Modi volunteered his services at the railway stations during the Indo-Pak war in 1965. He served the affected people during the 1967 Gujarat floods. Modi started working in the staff canteen of Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation. Eventually, he became a full-time supporter and pracharak, commonly called the ‘pracharak’ of the RSS. Modi later underwent training at the RSS camp in Nagpur. The basis of becoming a member of RSS is that one can attend the training course only if he holds an official position in the Sangh Parivar. Narendra Modi was given the charge of the student wing, which is known as the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP). His contribution to the emergency movement influenced senior political leaders. As a result, he was eventually appointed the regional organizer of the newly formed Bharatiya Janata Party in Gujarat.

Narendra Modi was a skilled organizer from a very young age. During the Emergency, he arranged for the secret circulation of RSS pamphlets and also protested against the Emergency regime. During his RSS days, he met two Jana Sangh leaders, Vasant Gajendragadkar and Nathlal Jagadha, who later established the BJP’s state association in Gujarat. In 1987, the RSS appointed Narendra Modi in politics, recommending his candidature in the BJP. Modi’s efficiency was recognized and he rose to prominence after managing the Ekta Yatra for Murali Manohar Joshi.

Became General Secretary of Gujarat Sangh of BJP in 1988.
Recognized as a key strategist to play a key role in successfully campaigning for the party in the 1995 and 1998 Gujarat assembly elections
